As a leader in our market, we have embraced combining techniques of Best Practice with the treatment approaches of Evidence Based Practice (EBP) providing our patients with the best available outcomes today.
What is EBP?
EBP refers to the use of treatment methods and techniques that are grounded in research based literature. The literature used is the most relevant, current and valid evidence available for making decisions about the care of individual patients. It gives us the ability to integrate research into practice.
Having the latest research and knowing how to apply it to individual patients gives the Select Physical Therapy therapist the advantage of using the best information and methods in their clinical practice! Upon evaluation, we compare our findings with the most recent research to customize the patient plan of care.
How do we train our staff to use EBP?
- A Formal Online Continuing Education Course is used to educate our clinicians. This intense, state certified, 4 hour course teaches the therapist techniques for accessing the EBP information, as well as determining the accuracy and relevance of the information provided.
- EBP Seminars are 16 hours each, and are taught by nationally known clinical educators. These courses are actual hands on laboratory sessions utilized to train our therapists in EBP techniques and treatment approaches.
- EBP email updates are sent which contain recent research articles. This subscription service keeps our therapists abreast of the most current information relevant to our profession.
What does this mean to you?
Better care and optimal outcomes for patients, with reassurance and accountability to payers, patients and referral sources!
